    Yunnan province is wonderful.

I am in yunnan province right now. the weather here is wonderful,

i was in dali for a few days, it rains in the day,but won’t bother you, cuz usually it only rains half an hour or so.

the temperature is around 20 degree during the day, 10 degree during the night. You can spend a day or two exploring the old town, which is pretty big. and there are many western couples there, i am sure your parents will meet many people there. and the hostel is quite cheap, for a room with two beds would be 60-150 kuai.

Kunming is a spring city, not too far from dali, 4-5 hours by bus , the temperature doesnt change that much all year around. Now it’s about 20 degree. During the fall, it won’t change too much. There are also many western couples here like your parents’ age.

If need more info about dali or kunming, you can PM me.

u can take a cab there or just use the metro, stop at Luomashi, and then walk for around 10 minutes (the new city plaza is quite easy to recongnize) and u’ll find yourself there.

    Enjoy!

    One of my favourite place:

    Longmarch bowling center.

    It’s a bowling/billiards/bar….

    Advanced bowling equipment, glow-in-the-dark lanes,

    snooker, billiards, bar.

and the owner Frank is really cool ,speaks decent English.

    🙂

@Brendan, Hi, it was not a ‘language exchange’ thing,

we met cuz a mutual friend of us invited us to party.

and i kind of fell for him in a very short time cuz he’s so charming…

honestly, i kind of threw myself at him.

so look back on it, not just his fault.

@Jerry: I do agree with you on the “significant hurt” though that’s not my case.

Maybe people just find it hard to trust someone again after being hurt. So they try to play on the safe side.

    🙂

Technically I am not a teacher. I am a chinese college student who used to teach teenagers English as a part-time job.

This is what I did with my students..

WORD GAMES.(Sure many of you did this)

Ask one student (random choice) to come up with an English word,

any English word, (better not start with the letter X, such as X-ray), for example, apple, and then the next student has to come up with a word that begins with the last letter E, and then it may goes like this…

Apple- Eleven- Negative- Employment- Thailand- Dormitory…..

I always put the students in two or more teams,

sometimes we put the girls one team, and the boys one…
