My invitation letter is addressed to hongkong! My office did it for me without any consultant and its the first time they did this visa thing. So, i suggest you confirm again with ur office if they can change it to hongkong! Or going with a consultant isnt bad if ur willing to spend some (probably a lot) money.

For iTunes users, , ItunesU has a good collection of chinese language tutorials from few universities. Most of the courses are aimed to teach basic language for beginners, its worth to check it out.

The course from hongkong university is good to start with.

Last month when I was doing the visa, I saw a notice in the embassy which said same day processing has been stopped. I don’t know if its temporary or permanent. So you will need 2 days for the visa. If u submit in the morning, you can pick it in the next morning.

I was there when berlusconi was hit by a stone in Milan and people cheered. When he resigned…Italians celebrated 😉

But I think he cannot win this time. I read that he never won last time, but became the prime candidate after a coupe he hatched.

Very good articles Charlie. The one about buying books than gear makes a lot of sense.

I have some photographs that I took during the last one year. Most of them are taken in china, but there are some from Europe and India.

Yeah. One month valid ZVisa. I was shocked at first, but browsed the net and found people saying similar things. With that visa one will have to process the work permit which is a process of 2-3 weeks. I wonder if its a new regulation? I don’t have to go back to hongkong again. This should be done in mainland china.

Yes. All the paper work was done by my employer. It was a huge pain and almost took our life to get those. I was kicked out twice until we reached there.

So, I went to Hong Kong. The visa process was quite fast. There was a little trouble just in my case but i got the visa at the end.

Although the website says foreigners need to go to their home country to get the Z-Visa, it’s not true. FOREIGNERS CAN GET THE ZVISA IN HONG KONG AND IT WAS A PIECE OF CAKE.

You go there an hour before they open and when u to inside it will take not more than 30-40 minutes. You will be asked to come next day if u chose to and you will have to pay when you collect the visa. In my case the processing fee for a ZVISA is 500 HongKong dollars.

    I have a question again 🙂

The ZVisa is valid only for a month from the day of arrival, and then I have to apply for the residence permit which can be given for a period of 6-12 months. Is it like this for everyone who get the ZVISA? Or you get the ZVisa straight away for certain period of time?

Yes its a very nice place to get an idea of growing chengdu. Like steeveyo said U need to take with you a Chinese friend to translate.

Its a very interesting building itself as well 😉 Now only a part of the building is completed and there is still work going on to enlarge the whole gallery.

Definitely worth spending some time there.
