I popped into these shops last night as i was heading out and asked them if they would have the 6+ today, they said no, so i’m thinking the didn’t even try to stock them and went for the smallest and cheapest version for the local market, that don’t want to spend too much money on trying to be zhuang B or 2Hao lol and they only had grey ones left… 🙂 same as last year with the ipad air they only stocked the 16gb……

ok seems it is no problem picking up an iphone6 today went to a couple places and they all had stock ready to sell…. BUT… only the 6 and not the 6+ and only 16gb but i have a guy tracking a 6+ 128gb down for me, so thinking its not to hard to find them, though i would think mixc would be a zoo

last year there didn’t seem to be a big craze for the iphone 5s seemed it was easy to pick-up at any apple authorized locations, though i didn’t buy one, but when i wanted to buy the ipad air i had to wait a couple weeks cause i wanted the 128gb and i think they just didn’t stock enough of that size ( the only reason i went to mixc cause the resellers were just stocking the smaller GB ), i would think that there would only be a line up for the pre ordered people at mixc i would think it would be easier/faster to just go to one of the smaller authorized sellers

it’s probably they just started getting soy or saline pumped breasts, they do it our countries too, saline isn’t as common anymore because the meat shrinks so much when cooked, so we use a mainly soy pump, it adds size so they can get more money for them, but on the plus side they’re adding protein to it, also it won’t shrink as much when cooked.

Hi Callum, china is famous for bike/scooter thieves and i’m reminded of that all the time with people i work and hangout with, every year this time of year is particularly busy for the thieves trying to get money for chinese new year.

i use kryptonite locks, i figure local thieves are good at opening local locks, so i bought foreign locks 3 years ago and haven’t had a problem, and a lot of my friends that use local locks have had their bikes or scooters stolen.

and park close to the old man in the underground parking if you can 🙂

@charlie, we are doing a family style dinner ( all plates on the table, help your self )

    the prices are

    2ppl 688– 2 free glasses wine

    4ppl 1288–1 bottle free wine

6-8 2688-2 free bottles of wine

portions are set so everyone is full (not all you can eat, its not a challenge :-))

also the more people at your table the more food options are put on the table.

I will also be doing an ice cream making demo with liquid nitrogen and flaming 151 rum ( what could go wrong :-p ) and give out tasters after…

we have about 15 reservations left if interested

@ les …. I’ll take that challenge, i’m the chef at VIN restaurant, i don’t think my food has ever been called bland, so if you guys really need a traditional type dinner on the 24th, we have about 30 seats left ( we can seat about 100 on the main floor ), and i think the kids will only be about 10-15

we are also probably the biggest western restaurant in chengdu and seat up to about 200 ppl, we are around the century city area.

you can pm me or email at [email protected] for a reservation, i’ll try and add our brochure and you can reserve that way as well ( i think wordpress hates me lol )

Hey good timing for this question, i just bought my first things on taobao today ( tear in me eye ) 🙂 ya the first set up is a pain in the ass i had to get 2 people to help me, but after that its easy….. make sure your online banking is set up, pay your phone bill on it just to make sure, then when signing into taobao make sure your name is in capitals then your password, then they will send a code to your phone put that in and you should be good, then it will send you to your bank and then password and should be good….. i’m told zhi fu bao is easier, but i’m still having trouble setting that up too ( name not matching ) and your bank should give you a “usb key” for added protection from thieves, but i’m still figuring that part out as well… Good luck!!

ya it’s you can exchange a maximum of $500 a day not a year, i’m not sure what our max is on sending is, as i don’t have to patients to go to the bank every day and exchange $500 till i reach the amount i want to send, i just get a chinese friend or girlfriend to do it, they can exchange $50,000 in one day with a maximum of $50,000 a year….. the only thing you might want to look out for is (for your friend) the income tax people might ask them why they had $50,000 in their account for 5 minutes, i haven’t heard of anything like that happening, but its something to be aware of.

    good luck!!

in reply to: Which One: iPad Mini Retina or iPad Air? #36532

Hey Alexander, i think i’m leaning towards the ipad air, with these old eyes i don’t think i’ll be able to tell the difference between 264 and 324 ppi though i will check them out side by side before i buy and i think i will enjoy the little extra space.

as for the advice to buy last years ipad mini? no hard ware difference? i’m no techie but A5 chip vs A7+M7 about 20x faster, 163 vs 324 ppi and a maximum of 16gb vs 128gb….. thats hardware isn’t it??? and 16gb would instantly be maxed out with all my itunes crap.

anyways i’ll see you at the apple store lol… good luck with your purchase! 🙂

Haha i had the same questions a few years ago too, so what i’ve figured out is, it depends on his job level and the restaurant they will be having the wedding dinner at, the better the restaurant the more you should give to a point, if you have people at work going that work below you, you should give more than they do, but don’t give more than your boss if you find out what they usually give ( can ask people from past weddings, people always know how much people give especially laowai 🙂 ), you always give money in even numbers 2,4,6,8, (for some reason 400 is ok even thought its a 4 )

if your at the dinner the bride and groom will come around and do a couple shots with you ( 1 each) make sure you return the favour later, if the groom can still stand 🙂 and drink with the parents if they are there. i typically bounce between 600 and 800 for the red envelope (hong bao )

    good luck have fun

    Hey Darius,
I agree with Tommy, Mandarin club is good, but like alan says the more hours you buy the cheaper it is, i think if you buy 50 hours at mandarin club it works out to be about 75Rmb an hour.

Good luck with the fun a and frustration of learning mandarin 🙂
