^ Is it the same location as the Xiong Mao Panda Festival with DJ Shadow?

Because the DD website says “DD takes place at Panda Club (formerly known as Xiong Mao) which is located in the South of Chengdu approximately a five minute walk from the US Consulate on Kehua Beilu.”

Shadow was more like a 30 minutes drive from the US Consulate 🙂

sorry for bumping this thread but don’t want to start a new one,

if you buy a dog in Chengdu, how hard is it to take it to Europe?

Someone told me it’s a 6month process of getting the dog vaccins and stuff (I don’t remember exactly what he said) and the ticket would be more expensive than my own, but if it’s a really small dog (like a jack russel terrier) you can take it with you on the plane in a little cage? That sounds weird and optimistic to me…

Most of you are probably well aware of this, but I’m gonna post it anyway 🙂 It’s also possible to use your VPN account on your iPhone. (Check with your VPN provider on how to set it up)

Combine it with the VPN toggle button in SBSettings and your VPN access is just 1 swipe away!

Obviously if the (G)Mail app would get blocked your mails wouldn’t work with Push notification anymore, so that’d be kind of lame.

I live really nearby that street and I have dinner over there like 3 times a week as well 🙂 Mostly in the one on the left corner if you’re facing them. Definately one of my favorite restaurants in Chengdu.

@Vincent: once you have tied an account to PayPal and verified it with them (this is done by PayPal making 2 minor deposits to the account, and having you authenticate the transaction numbers), you are free to move monies between the accounts. This is done without transfer fee, and exchanged at the current forex rate.

So I enabled online services for my bank account and added my UnionPay card to my PayPal account. I’m waiting for the verification, but I checked out some stuff and it seems that withdrawals (wire transfer) from PayPal to Chinese Bank are only possible in USD. Also, there would be several fee’s charged…?

“Wire Transfers are sent in USD, so please make sure that your China bank account can receive funds in USD.”

“Wire Transfer Fee: PayPal charges a fee to send a wire transfer to your bank account.

Bank Charges: Banks that handle a wire transfer may charge a processing fee. This amount can vary depending on the individual banks.”

So actually it’s the same as transferring money from my Belgian bank account to my Chinese one? That’s expensive 🙁

    Am I overlooking something?

Why are you looking for alternative ways anyway? Taxi’s are fast, cheap, honest and everywhere to find!

Although I must say a metro stop like in Shanghai would be convenient as well.

Lol just noticed China Merchants Bank has a limit of 500RMB per transaction per day. Guess it’s out of the question for me 🙁

    OMG!

Can u also deposit from PayPal TO a Chinese bank account and/or do you know out of ur head what it costs?

I’ve been very annoyed by the fact I have to pay about €5 every time I withdraw 2500rmb and I need to pay everything with my visa over here (including rental and stuff). So far lost about €50 to transaction fees in the past 3 weeks.
