I just came across this place called the GaoWei Bicycle Park (高威自行车公园). It’s in the south of Chengdu, just outside of 3rd Ring Road. It has blacktop surfaces through farmers fields, it could be fun to ride around. Has anyone been out there?

Saw this on weibo yesterday, let me see if I can find the pic. Basically some drunk people were gettin down and dirty with a public view.
I didn’t have any unaccompanied baggage, so I can’t say. I don’t think a few items in your luggage will be a problem though.
I just arrived in Chengdu the other day and carried on a lot of food and snacks and didn’t have a problem. I think as long as you don’t bring any fresh fruit, milk products or meat you should be ok. You may not want to stuff your bag so full with food though, unless its something special, you can find most foreign items in Chengdu.
I think this rule is still in affect. My current teaching job told me their previous teacher had to leave China because he had been working with them for 5 years strait. He will return next year.
