Yea, I applied for the visa here in Chengdu through Nick. Also considering becoming a student. Anyone know of a private school where I could start studying some time soon? Want to avoid having to wait for next semester.

Is it possible to get a 3 month L visa from like everywhere? Hong Kong? Malaysia? Would be nice if I don’t have to go all the way to my home country Sweden to get it.

I’ll be doing quite some research. Will let you know what I find out.

I already tried the building management, and they sent me two ladies, one bucket of dirty water, a mop, and some grubby looking rags! I had to literally send their manager to the store to buy cleaning products, and have her oversee the cleaners. 3 hours later I was graciously charged 200 RMB for my assistance!

I have had the same experience as you, and don’t want to go there again. Anyways, if I find a company I can recommend then I’ll let you people know.

Cool! A bigger pool would be nice, but a small one at a spa would suffice. Do you know any around Yulin that you can recommend?

Might be.. I remember the sign saying Something Villas or similar. Its like a garden though.. You’re probably right.

    That one closes at 10.

Shouldn’t there be some sports university with facilities that are open until late?

Read about problems with packet loss when using PPPoE and PPTP.

Right, seems to be DNS blocked. So substitute the address with IP address:

    59.152.228.238 hk.vpntraffic.com

    64.237.55.227 us1.vpntraffic.com

Works fine for me. Suspecting packet loss though, because its much slower than when I wasn’t on PPPoE. Will investigate later.

I think there’s some conflict with PPTP(which vpntraffic.com is using) and PPPoE? PPPoE is common here I guess? At least my ISP(China Telecom) is using PPPoE

I will for sure bring my collection to here next time I visit my home country. That won’t be until december though. Seems difficult to get hold of MTG cards in english around here?

I haven’t followed the news, but I can tell you how I experienced it.

Here in Yulin there was quite much water. Many streets and residential areas were filled with water.

Almost all buildings were out of power. I was lucky enough to have electricity in my building, but no water nor Internet. So I guess the landline phones were not working.

There were lots of police on the streets. Criminals probably used this opportunity…

I saw many malls without electricity and wide open doors. Probably they could not close them because there was no electricity.

It was pretty bad for my building, because the entrance floor is below ground level. So water found its way into the building and now the basement is filled with water. The flood was only for one day. At least here its okay now, but people are working with pumping water out of basements, garages etc. Theres no water on the streets now as far as I know.

I have no idea how much damage the flood caused. Probably ruined homes and cars.

If you’re outside of China or using a VPN you can read an article about the flood here: http://6park.com/news/messages/29304.html
