Hey i’m not one of you fancy Belgians, but i’ve brewed a few pretty good american style IPAs in my time and I was actually planning on putting together a kit at home next month and get the ball rolling on some non-snow beer. I think it would be pretty fun to have a little collaboration especially in an international community like this! Let’s get some people together sometime and sit down to talk microbrew and maybe even do a little teamwork brewing!

If you’re interested, shoot me a PM with your contact info and I’ll put together an email chain of interested parties. I go to Hong Kong for a week, but when i get back i want to get the ball rolling. Look forward to hearing from you!

i’m not sure how it works individually, but my company is sending me to hong kong this sunday to get that same thing done. I’ll ask around and see if they have any info on how you can do it on your own

Some good news for you, the Everbright Finance center is fairly close to the the subway line (either Wenshu Monestary to Loumashi station) so that opens up a lot of the city to you as relatively “close”.

Bad news, it’s going to be a pretty big shot in the dark trying to get a nice, new apartment in the range that will include all amenities. Have you ever lived in China and where are you from? Answers to those might give people a much better idea of what you’d expect.

Last thing to consider, most of the time rent in China is payed in groups of 3 or 6 months at a time. So if you’re looking to pay 2000 per month, make sure you have at least 6000 laying around to pay the first bill. (maybe up to 10,000 if there are realtor fees and a deposit)

oh sweet…thanks! any idea how i can contact them (in english) to ask if they would work in my complex here? I’m not sure if they will since it’s about a 5 year old apartment building. any idea how new places should be to expect this available?

in reply to: Internet Service & Speed in Chengdu #23833

hmm any idea how to go about seeing if it’s available in my area? and how much does it cost for the 20 mb line (same price doesnt help) and also, how do i go about doing all this without speaking chinese 🙁

in reply to: Looking for a Teaching Job – Advice? #23512

Hey I’m a current teacher at EF in the Shawan area of chengdu. I know we are hiring an extra hand over the next few weeks as two of our teachers’ contracts just came up. I’ve come to realize since i’ve been here that all schools have different rules for hiring, but it’s really just about finding a good fit with the boss and I’d say we have just about the best Director of Studies you’ll find.

PM me if you’re looking for a teaching position!

they offer anywhere between 6500 and 8000 depending on experience plus airfare coverage and provided accommodations or a monthly accommodation stipend. Pretty sweet deal all around
