Try Grappa in the Galleria mall, next to Auchan & Ikea. Good Italian food and nice wines.

Maybe not the most romantic atmosphere to eat, but when you’re there for the food it’s certainly worth it.

According to some Chinese i spoke about this the reason for the current high rates is a sandstorm somewhere around Sichuan that blew up all the dirt in the air. Burning fields is something usually is done in May, so a bit early for that.

I’m not an expert on this level, actually just parroting what I was told, but it did make sense to me so why not share it…

Well, about the South Railway station, indeed the metro stop itself is a bus station, but close by is the train station itself (a bit North).

It’s not as big as he North Railway station, but I’m very sure you can buy tickets there as I did it myself (which means I sent my assistant there to pick them up :-))..

Go 1 metro stop further (or walk about 800 metres), South Railweay station. I would be very surprised if you can’t find traintickets there.

It’s just some bolts as far as I can see, but my amount of tools is about the same as my knowledge of such things, around zero.

I live just south of Tongzilin, the place is called Pinnacle Peak / Emerald, very close to Auchan and Ikea. I’m moving it to Century City.

Thanks for the advice, I think I’ll make it there with the passport copy, and if so, hope to be able to get back again..

And if not, well, that’s the first lesson you learn over here, don’t ask why, cause even if they give the answer, you’ll still not understand..

Auchan does have some great wines.. I picked up a nice bottle of Andes Rivers Chilean Merlot for around 40rmb.

If this wine is indeed good you better run to Auchan, as it’s on sale now for 29 rmb..

Next to the fact that I can recommend the trainer in the post above (I’m also having lessons from Damian) I’m also looking for some people to play tennis with now and then.

At this very moment I’m moving to a new appartment which has a private tennis court that I can rent for as much as 15 RMB per hour, so if you’re interested, let me know.

I have a normal office job during the weekdays, so in the evenings and during weekend I’m available..

    Hello all,

I’m back in town, so if anyone is in for tennis tennis let me know. Besides that, if everything works out fine I’ll also have a private tenniscourt at my new place i a few days.

Right now I have two rackets, 4 tennis balls and a court, so that should be enough for a game or two.

Well, that’s too bad, I’m in Amsterdam for the next two weeks, so can’t be there. However, if this visit is a succes I’m sure she’ll com back again, and I can have some suits made at that time.

Also gives me an opportunity to see one of your suits before I decide to have one myself 🙂

    Hi Charlie,

At the moment we have our office in the Incubation Center, but from December 1st we’ll have our new office in Financial City.

We mainly focus on developing solutions based on Microsoft technology, being a smartsourcing partner for some large companies in Europe.

I’ve heard that there are many IT things going on this moment is Chengdu, thus I’d be very pleased to meet other people in this business. If you’re able and willing to introduce me to some people you know I’ll certainly buy you a beer, perhaps two 🙂

    Hi Michael,

I can get a good quality tailormade suit for about 400 – 500 euro back home in Amsterdam. So, if the quality is about the same of what I’m used to, and the prices are significantly lower I’m interested in some new suits.
